The Devon Education Collective is a group of independent specialists who are committed to supporting equitable classrooms and experiences for all learners, providing accessible professional development for partners across the education system and developing resources and research to inform teaching development and practice.
We have many years of experience providing support tailored to meet the needs of groups of schools, individual schools and individuals within schools and are experienced at working with all those involved in learning and teaching — pupils, teachers, teaching assistants, subject leaders, SENDCOs, senior leadership teams, head teachers, governors and parents.

Alison Braddon
Alison is an experienced English adviser and STA-accredited KS2 Moderator with a rich background in teaching and learning, intervention, curriculum development and assessment. She is committed to providing quality professional development for educators through consultancy and moderation. Alison is a teacher trainer and practitioner for many accredited English interventions and has a particular interest in helping struggling readers find confidence and joy in books. She co-authors several popular resources including BookWrites and Re-think Reading.

Jenny Core
Jenny has supported schools as an English Adviser for many years. She is an experienced primary teacher and English Leader, co-authoring publications as an English Adviser and former Primary Languages Adviser. Jenny led English for Devon Primary SCITT and supported ECTs as a Visiting Fellow with Ambition Institute. As a KS2 STA-accredited Lead Moderator, she continues to champion high standards. Jenny delights in sharing the rich world of children’s books with both children and teachers.

Rebecca Cosgrave
Rebecca has over 30 years' experience in English education and still brings the same passion and energy to her work. She's driven by a belief that every child deserves the chance to read and write: it's the key to opportunity. Her career spans class teaching, SENCO, senior leadership, consultancy, and advisory roles. Until recently, she led the Primary English team at Devon Education Services. Rebecca is also a seasoned writing moderator, LA moderation manager, and a member of STA’s reference group.

Rebecca New
Rebecca is an experienced English adviser and STA-accredited KS2 Lead Moderator with a rich background in teaching and learning, leadership, curriculum development and assessment. With degrees in Literature & Creative Writing and MA Education, she’s taught at primary and KS3, working as Assistant Head, English and Pupil Premium Lead, among other roles. She co-authors several popular resources including BookWrites and Re-think Reading!, and is passionate about supporting schools through consultancy, moderation, and professional development.

Primary Maths Subject Leader Meetings, Research and Resources from the Maths team
Andy Tynemouth
With an advisory career spanning over 25 years Andy Tynemouth is an experienced maths advisor. This includes ten years as part of the national team researching, creating and leading Every Child Counts implemented in some 95 LAs across England. Andy supports professional development of teachers, TAs and school leaders using a range of approaches as well as having a particular interest in diagnostic assessment and supporting struggling learners. He has written or co-authored a number of resources, articles and research papers.

Helen Edginton
Helen is an experienced mathematics adviser in professional development, research, assessment, and resource design. She has led a range of research projects and serves as a Work Group Lead for the Jurassic Maths Hub. A former KS1 moderator who also supports KS2 assessment, Helen recently joined the advisory panel for Multiplicity Lab. Passionate about inspiring teachers and pupils, she combines deep mathematical knowledge with a coaching approach helping schools nurture confident, creative, independent learners.

Dr Ruth Trundley
Ruth has worked for many years as a Maths Adviser, designing and leading professional development programmes and and researching and writing education resources, after teaching in primary schools in England and Canada. She has developed and led numerous research projects, is Jurassic Maths Hub Primary and Early Years Lead, a trustee of both the Joint Mathematics Council and of Collaborative Lesson Research UK, Visiting Fellow in Mathematics Education at Loughborough University and co-chair of BCME10, which is planned for October 2026.

Stefanie Burke
Stefanie is a Maths Adviser who has supported teachers and school leaders across the primary phase for over 25 years. She creates and leads professional development and research projects, often working with trainee and early career teachers. Stefanie designs materials to enhance the teaching of primary mathematics and to assess children’s mathematical understanding. She is part of the ATM/MA Joint Primary Maths Group who are currently developing tasks for the assessment of multiplicative understanding in KS2.
